Tasks and boards

Turn a project into trackable work — a board or a table, with statuses, time tracked per task, and more.

Tasks break a project into the actual pieces of work. You can track time straight against a task, see a project as a board or a table, and keep it moving with statuses and custom fields.

Tasks is a feature you may need enabled

The Tasks screen appears when the tasks feature is on for your workspace and your role allows it. If it's not in your sidebar, that's why — an admin can turn it on. You can still track time without tasks.

Two views of the same work

  • Board — cards in status columns. Drag a card between columns to change its status; use the + on a column to add a task there.
  • Table — a spreadsheet-style grid with sortable, resizable, reorderable columns and inline editing.

They're the same tasks shown differently — switch freely. On the board, the Card fields picker lets you choose which custom fields show as chips on cards (remembered per project).

Create a task

There are entry points everywhere: the header + Task, a per-project + Task, the + on a board column, the table's footer row, and even inline from the time-entry task picker ("Create '…'").

Statuses

Each task has a status from the project's status options (default: Todo / In progress / Done). Edit them from the primary Status column's menu — see custom fields.

Track time against a task

Hit the timer button on any row or card to start tracking that task (it presets the project, task, and description). Time rolls up on the task's Tracked column, the project, and your reports. You can attach several tasks to one entry and the time splits evenly.

Archive vs. delete

  • Archive hides a task (reversible — a "Show archived" toggle brings it back).
  • Delete removes it permanently, but keeps the time logged against it (the entries just lose the task link).

Assignees

Assign a task to any workspace member. For a GitHub-linked task, you can also assign repo collaborators — that pushes the assignment to the issue.

Custom fields & columns

Add your own columns and reuse them with templates.
