Your team's capacity

The People tab — a lane per person against the hours they have, a verdict each, and the levers for changing someone's capacity.

The People tab is the Engagement tab's plan, one lane per person. It answers the Monday question: who's overbooked, who has room, and where there's a gap to hire for.

The People tab. Each lane is one person's booked hours per week against the dashed line of hours they have. Over the line is red.

Read the lanes

Each person is a lane of per-period bars against a dashed line at their available hours: their weekly capacity, minus any time off.

  • Up to the line — booked and healthy.
  • Short of the line — room to sell. The gap is sellable bench.
  • Past the line — overbooked. The bar breaks above the line and gets a red outline.

Bars stack the engagements the person is booked on, coloured to match the Engagement tab. Hover a bar for that period's mix: each engagement's hours, plus what's free or over.

Availability, not a flat number

Someone part-time, or out for part of a period, has a lower line that week. "Over the line" always means over their real capacity.

The verdict

To the left of each lane, one line sums up the window: average utilization as a percent, and whether they're on pace, overbooked, or carrying free hours a week.

Until anyone has been staffed on anything, every person's figure stays grey. Staffing is optional, and an unstaffed team isn't a bench to flag.

Expand a person

Click a name to open their summary under the lane: how many engagements they're on, booked and free hours a week, and each engagement with its allocation as a percent of their capacity and hours a week.

Below that sit four actions: Staff / edit, Adjust capacity, Add goal, and View person. They mirror the actions under an expanded engagement on the Engagement tab.

Two collapsible sections, closed from the start.

  • Hours — Booked (the planned work, the same figure the Engagement tab shows), Staffed (how much of it is assigned to people), Capacity, and Available. When Booked sits above Staffed, that gap is work nobody is on yet.
  • Money — if you can see billing, a Billable row prices the staffed hours off the rate card. If you can also see costs, a Cost row joins it and Billable folds in the margin.

Both tabs close with the same two sections, so the two views reconcile line for line. The current period's column is shaded on both.

Money is role-gated

Billable needs See billing; Cost and margin need See costs & profit. People who can't see money get only the Hours section. Work on an engagement with no bill rate shows no billings.

Adjust a person's capacity

Open Adjust capacity in the header and pick someone.

Owners and admins change capacity

A manager sees their team's lanes and staffs them, and a project manager the people on their projects. Changing someone's capacity or time off stays with owners and admins.

  • Weekly capacity — the long-term lever: going part-time, a new hire ramping up. It applies from today forward and never restates history. Clear it to fall back to the workspace default.
  • Time off — the short-term lever: vacation, sick days. Add a date range and it lowers their available line for those days.

Both feed straight back into the lanes and the footer.

On a phone

The chart stays and the lanes become one card per person, with the same verdict and each period's booked hours against capacity.

Staffing an engagement

Put people on the work, from who's actually free.
