Custom fields & columns

Add your own columns to a project's tasks — status, tags, dates, and more — and reuse them with field templates.

Tasks start with a name and a status, but you can add any columns your work needs — a priority, a due date, an owner, a link. Columns are per project, and you can save them as reusable templates.

The field types

TypeShows as
StatusA single coloured pill (drives the board columns)
Tags (multi-select)Coloured chips, pick several
DateA date picker
TextFree text
NumberRight-aligned number
LinkA clickable URL

Every cell is click-to-edit in the table view.

Add a column

Click Add column in the table header. Two tabs:

New

Name it and pick a type. For Status and Tags, add options and give each a colour (from the palette or a custom hex).

Library

Adopt a field template you've saved before in one click — great for keeping the same columns across projects.

Templates save themselves

Every column you create is automatically added to your personal field library, so you can reuse it on the next project without rebuilding it. Templates are yours alone.

The primary Status column

Every project has one Status column that can't be deleted — it drives the board's columns. Edit its options (rename, recolour, add, remove) from the column's menu.

Resize, reorder, remove

Drag a column's right edge to resize it, drag its grip to reorder, and use the column menu to rename or delete it. Deleting a column removes its values.

GitHub-synced columns are locked

A column synced from a GitHub board shows a GitHub mark and its options are read-only — you manage them on GitHub. Editing a mapped Status option can break the board mapping.
