Terms & policy updates
How you agree to the Terms and Privacy Policy, what happens when they change, and how to see which version you accepted.
Everyone who creates a ProjectPacer account agrees to the Terms & Conditions and the Privacy Policy. Both are published in full, and every version stays online — so you can always read exactly what you agreed to.
Agreeing when you sign up
The sign-up form has a checkbox for the Terms and Privacy Policy. It starts unchecked on purpose, and Create account stays disabled until you tick it — agreeing is a thing you do, not a default you have to notice and undo.
The same checkbox appears when you join through an invite link and don't have an account yet. If you already have one, you just sign in; you agreed when you signed up.
We record which version you accepted and when. That record is never overwritten — accepting a later version adds to your history rather than replacing it.
When the documents change
Each version is stamped with its effective date, which is also its version number (for example, 2026-07-19). When we publish a new one:
- We notify you by email or in the app at least 30 days before it takes effect, as described in Section 19 of the Terms.
- A dismissible banner appears at the top of the app telling you what changed and linking to both documents. Accept now records your agreement without leaving the page; dismissing it hides it until your next visit.
- Once the new version takes effect, continuing to use ProjectPacer means you accept it. You're never locked out of your own data over a document change.
Changes that affect your legal rights — for example, how disputes are handled — ask for an explicit yes: a short dialog that shows what's changing, with Accept and continue or Not now. Choosing "Not now" is fine — it's a soft snooze, not a refusal: you stay on the version you last accepted, nothing is locked or deleted, and we'll ask again later.
If you'd rather not agree to a new version, you can stop using the Service and export or delete your data at any time.
Both links open in a new tab, so you can read the full document and come back to the banner without losing your place.
Seeing what you accepted
Settings → Profile → Data & privacy has a Your agreements block showing the version of each document you're on and the date you accepted it, with a link to re-read that exact version. If an update is waiting, it appears there too — and you can accept it right from Settings, not only from the banner.
The current documents always live at /terms and /privacy, each showing its effective date and version.
We keep every past version on file. If you'd like a copy of an earlier one — or of the exact version you accepted — contact support and we'll send it.
If you need a copy of your own acceptance record — which version, and when — contact support and we'll send it.
