Share a live client dashboard

Give a client a read-only link to their engagement — live or a frozen date range — with per-link control over what's shown and who can open it.

You can hand a client a link to a read-only dashboard of their engagement — the same pace, budget, and burn-up you see, minus anything internal. They open it in a browser with no account and no login.

Nothing is shared until you create a link

Every engagement starts private. Open the engagement, click Share, and choose Share a live link. Creating, editing, and revoking links is available to anyone who can manage the engagement — an admin, or the engagement's Project Manager. If you can open the engagement's Edit button, you can share it. Your own account also needs a confirmed email address — if it isn't yet, the banner at the top of the app has a Resend link.

•
Open Share → Share a live link

From the engagement, click Share, then the Share a live link tab.

•
Name it (optional)

Give it a name like "Client monthly view" so you can tell several links apart later.

•
Choose who can open it

Pick an access mode (below).

•
Pick what they see

Under What clients see, choose the metrics and sections to include.

•
Create, then copy

Click Create link, then Copy and send the URL.

Who can open it

Three access modes:

  • Anyone with the link — no gate; whoever has the URL can open it.
  • Ask for their email — a soft gate. They type an email before seeing anything (remembered on their device for about two weeks). It isn't a login — it's so you know who's looking.
  • Require a verified email — they receive a one-time code by email and must enter it to get in.

For either email mode you can limit who's allowed. Add a whole domain (acme.com — anyone with an email there) or a specific address (sam@acme.com — just that person). Mix and match, or leave it empty to allow any email. Type an entry and press Enter to add it as a chip.

What clients see

Everything is chosen per link. Timeline, Budget & utilization, and Pace are on by default — and each can be turned off (for example, share progress without sharing pace). Optional additions: Remaining, Velocity & projection, the Burn-up chart, Who's contributing, Milestones, Billed expenses, Contributors, Last activity, and Recent time entries (which always show the task type, and optionally who logged each one).

Cost and margin never leave

A shared link never includes your cost or margin — there is no setting that turns it on. It's excluded on the server, so even an admin creating a link can't expose it.

Revenue — the dollar budget and effective rate (what the client is billed) — is off by default and opts in per link.

Sharing revenue needs the billing permission

You can only share money you can see. Turning on Dollar budget & effective rate requires that you can see billing for this engagement yourself. If you can't, the option shows locked — "Requires permission" — and stays off.

Live, or a frozen snapshot

By default a link is live: it recomputes each time the client opens it, stamped "updated <time>."

Switch Data to Snapshot to freeze it. Pick a date range — say July 1–31 — and the whole frozen view counts only that window (hours, burn-up, contributors, recent time), which is ideal for a month-end recap. The budget stays the engagement's budget, so utilization reads as that window against the full budget. Switch back to Live any time, or update the snapshot to a new range.

An engagement can have several links, each fully independent. A common setup is one open summary for a wide audience and one email-gated full view — with revenue — for the client's finance contact. Manage them all from the same Share panel; each keeps its own name, access, contents, expiry, and live/snapshot state.

  • Expires — links last 90 days by default. Change it under Link options: 30, 90, or 365 days, a custom date, or never.
  • Regenerate — mint a fresh URL; the old one stops working immediately. Use this if a link was shared too widely.
  • Revoke — kill a link instantly. That URL stops working for everyone.
  • Who's viewed — for email links, see who has opened it and when.
Treat an open link like a password

An Anyone with the link URL uses an unguessable token and is hidden from search engines, but anyone you forward it to can open it. For a client's eyes only, use one of the email modes — or Regenerate if a link ever gets out.
