Your first-run setup

The welcome wizard and the getting-started checklist — what they ask, and how to skip or revisit them.

The first time you open ProjectPacer as a new workspace owner, a short welcome wizard appears, and a getting-started checklist follows you until you're set up. Both are optional — here's what they do.

The welcome wizard

Four quick steps that tailor the app to you — nothing is pre-seeded, it only asks:

Who you are

Solo, a team, or internal — this shapes which checklist items you'll see.

What you want out of it

Track time, billing & profitability, project management, recover billable time — pick any. This decides which features the checklist nudges you toward.

Your first work

Optionally create your first client and project right there.

Start

Start a timer immediately, or explore on your own.

It's fully skippable, and joining as a member or collaborator shows a lighter orientation instead.

The getting-started checklist

A card docks in the corner with a short, grouped checklist — create a client, log an entry, set your preferences, and so on. It adapts to your persona, goals, and role, so you only see steps that apply to you.

  • Items check off automatically when you actually do them (or on a click, for "go look at X" ones).
  • Most items have a Learn more link into these docs.
  • Hit 100% for a little celebration.
Tuck it away or close it

Collapse the checklist to a small Get set up launcher in the sidebar, or close it entirely — and re-open it any time from that launcher.

Track your first entry

The first thing the checklist asks you to do.
